Badger softball team advaces

Next up, Kenosha Bradford Thursday

The Badger High softball team defeated Westosha Central, 4-3 Thursday to remain as Walworth County's last team still alive.

Rachel Gremo's solo home run in the bottom off the ninth inning carried Badger to a Division 1 regional title win.

That sends the Badgers against top-seeded Kenosha Bradford Thursday in the semifinals of the Wilmot Sectional.

Valerie Hutkowski stuck out 13 and walked only three in pitching Badger to victory with a complete-game seven-hitter.

Leah Rempert's two-run homer gave Badger a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Randi Rederer's RBI triple lifted Westosha into a 3-3 tie in the fifth.
