Art from hot metal
The UW-Whitewater Sculpture Club has something fun in mind for young artists this spring.
An exciting and educational event for people ages 5 and up, this spring's iron pour on Saturday, April 5 will provide an opportunity to gain experience in iron casting from scratch blocks.
Participants will create their own molds and work with college students and faculty in a memorable activity with an iron art piece to take home at the end of the pour.
A scratch block and technical lesson will be provided.
A $15 fee will be used to support future visiting artists.
People under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Meet at 9 a.m. in the back of Greenhill Center for the Arts in the sculpture area.
