Steve and Judy Jacobson and family have donated this puppy for the D-DHS Booster Club Auction.

The interesting story behind this is the mother dog, Kota, was raised by the Kelly family. Bruce and Jeanette Kelly are retired teachers from this area. Bruce taught at D-DHS. In addition to the Jacobson's family dog, there are other teachers at D-DHS who also have ties to the Kelly labs. The owner of the father of the pups is Charlie Runyon, a teacher at Wileman Elementary School and his wife Cheryl, a retired teacher at Wileman Elementary School, Delavan.

Ed Lauzon, also a teacher at D-DHS, has the grandmother and a sibling of Kota's. Tony Vidas, retired teacher at D-DHS, also has a sibling to Kota.

The Jacobsons are excited to offer one of their puppies for this benefit. Madie and Becca Jacobson have graduated from the Delavan-Darien School District. Hannah is a senior graduating in June and Maren attends Wileman Elementary School. The Jacobson family is the owner of the Apple Barn Orchard and Winery.

The D-DHS Booster Club Auction will be held Friday, Feb. 15. The silent auction starts at 5:15 p.m. with the live auction immediately following the varsity basketball game.

The Comets girls team will play the Elkhorn Elks at 5:30 p.m. The boys game will begin at 7:30 p.m.
