Richard Quinlan, senior vice president operations for Hostmark Hospitality Group, and Cary J. Kerger, president of Abbey Provident Management, jointly announced the appointment of David L. Lindelow, as general manager of the Abbey Resort & Fontana Spa, 269 Fontana Blvd., Fontana, 275-9000, www.theabbeyresort.com.

Lindelow is a seasoned hospitality executive with over 20 years’ experience in leading successful hotel and resort properties. He comes to the Abbey directly from the Balsams Grand Resort, in Dixville Notch, N.H., a well-known historic property covering 15,000 acres where he was the general manager. The Balsams Grand Hotel was named to the 2007 Conde Nast Gold List, which represents the top 700 hotels/resorts in the world and is one of only nine hotels in the world that received a perfect score of 100 percent for their cuisine. It was also designated as a Golf Digest Silver Resort, received the Wine Spectator Excellence Award and was the top-ranked public golf course in New Hampshire.

Lindelow’s previous appointments include general management and senior management positions with the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, 15 years with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Hershey Hotels & Resorts and the Stouffer Corporation.

He received his education at Temple University, where he studied business administration and has been active in the New Hampshire Governor’s Travel Council, Greater Philadelphia Marketing and Tourism Association and the lodging associations in both areas. He is an avid golfer, skier and cyclist with a passion for travel and fine wines.

“We couldn’t be more pleased that Mr. Lindelow has joined our Abbey management team,” Quinlan and Kerger said in a news release. “His tremendous reputation and experience in overseeing the complexities of a multifaceted operation such as the Abbey was an important aspect of his appointment and will help reestablish the Abbey Resort & Fontana Spa as the premier conference, spa and leisure destination in the Midwest.”

Lindelow and his wife Terri, a respected jewelry artist, will be relocating to the Lake Geneva area in the very near future.

Abbey Resort and Fontana Spa

Overlooking Lake Geneva, the Abbey Resort and Fontana Spa rests on 90 acres of meticulously landscaped grounds and is the only full-service resort in the area that boasts lakefront property. Named one of Boating Life’s Top 10 Family Boating Resorts, the Abbey Resort and Fontana Spa has the only protected marina on Lake Geneva with 407 boat slips and a boat launch. The resort offers everything from boat rental and water sports rental to scenic boat tours and parasailing.

For more than four decades this elegant resort has been the destination of choice for vacationers and business teams looking for an out-of-the-ordinary retreat. Ushering in an improved era of excellence after a total renovation in 2005, the Abbey Resort and Fontana Spa, now under management by Schaumburg, Ill.-based Hostmark Hospitality Group, will further establish itself as the premier leisure and business destination of the Midwest.
