Dear Readers,

I recently met some wonderful caring people. After an introduction there was a lot of interest shown in The Time Is Now and the work we do. They were filled with questions and curiosity and showed a true desire to genuinely help. They wanted to be absolutely sure that what was donated was going to be given only to the needy. They wanted to be sure that the daily necessities of life were being met by those in need right now. With these requirements and others met, I can gratefully announce our new MLH $25,000 matching grant.

I want to share with everyone that with this matching grant, we will acquire the funds necessary to answer many requests that have been waiting for help. Having a waiting list of those in need due to a lack of finances is very painful. Knowing there are single moms, children or elderly going to bed hungry--or worse, having no home or bed to go to--fills my heart with sadness.

It astounds me that we live in one of the world's wealthiest countries, yet we have so many people suffering around us. Once again it is left up to us, the private sector, to lend a helping hand. Our country is made up of good people who continue to network and grow in a belief that our strength of humanity and moral conduct strengthens us as Americans and God's creations.

Caring and sharing benefits both the giver and the receiver. Those who give know they are relieving the feelings of pain, sorrow, fear and hopelessness by supplying the daily necessities of life such as, food, clothing, shelter, compassion, hope and caring. Many feel lost and even question their own existence. It is up to us to make a difference. Most of the people we have helped have a new outlook on life because of the help they have received. They possess a newfound feeling of living a life, which we have helped provide.

Knowing that your life matters, that you are important to others, that you make a difference and have a purpose for being here creates a feeling of well being and an appreciation of life. The Time Is Now gives us this purpose, both to the giver and the receiver. When you understand this, your own life-giving power within will rise to another plateau in loving our gift of life.

While we have this opportunity upon us, please consider donating to The Time Is Now. Every dollar that you give will be matched by the MLH $25,000 matching grant. This means that at the conclusion of this matching grant, there will be $50,000 given to help our local poverty-stricken, our neighbors who have fallen upon hard times. Give what you can, knowing that every penny will be utilized to help those less fortunate. Not one penny of your donation will be used for overhead. Every penny you give will go to those who need the daily necessities of life. It will provide food, clothing, shelter, utility assistance and transportation assistance to get to work and necessary doctor visits. Every penny will be accounted for publicly in the newspaper, showing where every penny was spent.

Every year we help approximately 500 people who need assistance. We get something accomplished without a lot of red tape and delay. If we come upon someone who is hungry, we feed them right away. We provide other daily necessities to ease the pain and sorrow of being poor as expeditiously as possible.

In the past we have helped children, elderly, handicapped and other good individuals who have fallen on hard times. Together we will continue to fight the pain of poverty.

Health and happiness,

God bless everyone,
