The Delavan Historical Society recognized Casey Himebauch, Janelle Glasbrenner and the Delavan Lake Improvement Association with Preservation Recognition Awards.

Himebauch and Glasbrenner earned the award for their restoration of the historic Jackson Apartment building in downtown Delavan. The two-person team of CJ Management saved one of the city's oldest buildings (154 years old) from demolition, remodeled the interior into attractive, modern apartments and preserved the historic exterior.

When the Delavan Lake Improvement Association organized in 1895, one of its first acts was establishing a fire department at Delavan Lake. Today, the town's fire department has expanded to include several fire houses and a substantial volunteer firefighting force.

Also, throughout the years, the association has been responsible for taking a leadership role in the preservation and maintenance of Delavan Lake, keeping it a vital part of the surrounding community.

The awards will be presented on Thursday, Dec. 14 at the society's annual holiday dinner, held this year at the Village Supper Club on South Shore Drive, Delavan.
