A Lake Geneva man drowned Saturday after his canoe capsized on Lake Ivanhoe.
George W. Kidd, 87, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Walworth County Sheriff's Department.
The water was about 8 to 10 feet deep, police said. No personal flotation device was found, and Kidd was not wearing one, police said.
Kidd's car and boat trailer were found parked nearby at a boat launch.
Rescue personnel from Bloomfield, Williams Bay, Fontana, Linn, Randall, Twin Lakes and the Bloomfield Fire Department responded to the scene
