SUGAR CREEK

An 84-year-old Delavan woman was killed Tuesday afternoon when her car was struck broadside by an oncoming truck at the intersection of Hazel Ridge and Cobblestone roads.

Theresa Logterman-Vegter, 810 Shady Lane, died at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center at 4:46 p.m. from multiple internal injuries, Coroner John Griebel said.

At 4:05 p.m., Logterman-Vegter was southbound on Cobblestone Road. She failed to stop at Hazel Ridge and was struck by a westbound pickup truck driven by Levi G. Sisk, 26, of Darien, according to the Walworth County Sheriff's Department. Sisk had the right-of-way.

Sisk's passenger, Ryan M. Nachreiner, 23, of Whitewater, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. He received treatment at Lakeland.

Sisk was uninjured.

Logterman-Vegter was the sole occupant in her 1998 Chevy Lumina. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time.

She is the 12th traffic fatality in Walworth County this year.
