A 17-year-old from Pell Lake, who is suspected of leading police on a wild, 13-mile chase on May 24, pleaded not guilty Monday.

Joshua R. Becker, W917 Green St., is suspected of walking away from the Walworth County Huber Dorm, stealing a car from a farm on MacLean Road and fleeing from police after being spotted the next day.

The chase went from Elkhorn, through Delavan and ended in Richmond Township south of Whitewater. Speeds reached more than 100 mph and Becker swerved toward oncoming traffic several times, according to the complaint.

He is charged with multiple offenses related to the theft and the chase and faces more than 35 years in prison if convicted.
