UW-Whitewater September music recitals announced

The UW-Whitewater Music Department is pleased to announce September's
guest artist and faculty recitals. These five recitals will be performed
in the Light Recital Hall located in the Greenhill Center of the Arts.
Tickets for general public are $5; over 65 $4 and students are $3 and
may only be purchased at the door 45 minutes prior to the concert. Proceeds
from these recitals will benefit the Music Department Scholarship Fund
- allowing the Music Department to recognize students for their musical
talent and academic excellence.
Kicking off September's music events, guest artists Saxophonist Colin
Young and Pianist Cameron Hofmann take the stage of the Light Recital
Hall on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 7:30pm. The program for this
recital includes: Fafchamps' 'Decalcomanie de Reich et Liget,' Capelletti's
'Ge (r)ms,' Denisov's 'Sonate,' Fox's 'Hear Again in Memory,' and Bauweraerts'
'Trilogie.' Young has recently completed a Master's degree in saxophone
performance at the University of Minnesota and has performed at the
Fischoff Chamber music competition and the NASA Biennial Conference
in Iowa City. His primary teachers have been Matthew Sintchak and Eugene
Rousseau. Hofmann hails from California and currently resides in Minneapolis
where he is pursuing a doctoral degree in accompanying and coaching.
He recently accompanied Dr. Eugene Rousseau in a recital at Brigham
Faculty Recital - Brian Leeper, baritone will perform on Thursday,
September 21, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in the Light Recital Hall.
Guest Artist - Kevin Ayesh, piano will perform on Sunday, September
24, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in the Light Recital Hall.
Faculty Recital - Benjamin Whitcomb, cello and Myung Hee Chung, piano
will perform on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in the Light
Guest Artist - Randall Hall, saxophone will perform on Thursday, September
28, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in the Light Recital Hall.
