The public hearing for the proposed Walworth County supervisory district redistricting plan will be held 6 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 7 in the county board room of the government center, 100 W. Walworth St., Elkhorn.
General discussion of the plan will be conducted and residents are invited to share their thoughts and opinions of the proposed district boundaries. The hearing is necessary because the county board will be shrunk from 25 supervisors to 11 at next spring's election. A citizen-initiated referendum prompted the downsizing.
The regular monthly county board meeting will follow the public hearing. The board could discuss and act on the plan.
There will be one more public hearing and county board review of the plan following concept approval by county municipalities.
A final plan is due to the state no later than Nov. 15.
