Local author Bonnie Alton will be signing copies of the book Wisconsin Dells, the latest in the Postcard History Series by Arcadia Publishing.
Alton's signing will be Saturday-Sunday, July 14-15 at J'Marc Graphics at 235 Broad St. in Lake Geneva. noon-3 p.m.
Alton, of Lake Geneva, taught for more than 20 years in area schools. While still in high school, she spent summers in the Dells, which led to a lifelong love of, and appreciation for, the natural beauty of the area.
Her collection of vintage postcards, many based on the photography of H.H. Bennett, has been a hobby for 40 years and was the inspiration for the book.
Highlights of Wisconsin Dells include legends and lore of the Dells from the mid-1800s, images of rock formations now underwater, traditional Native American dances and rare postcards that capture the Dells' magnificent views.
