Burtness Chevrolet owner John Bowditch, along with his sons Brian and Matt Bowditch, are expanding their Orfordville location, 303 E. Beloit St., Orfordville, (608) 879-2973, to include a Chevrolet dealership in Whitewater, 563 S. Janesville St., Whitewater, (262) 473-2522.

Previously known as Sanderson Chevrolet, the newly purchased car dealership will be named Burtness Chevrolet of Whitewater. While John Bowditch will oversee each dealership, Matt Bowditch will be transitioning into a new role at Whitewater and Brian Bowditch will remain in Orfordville.

Burtness Chevrolet has been successfully serving Orfordville and the surrounding communities for nearly a century. Established in 1921, current owner John Bowditch has grown Burtness into one of the most prominent Chevrolet franchises in southern Wisconsin.

"When I purchased Burtness nearly 30 years ago, I made the decision to always maintain customer-focused quality as the life blood of the organization," he said in a news release. "This philosophy guides our daily operations all the way from the sale to the delivery to the next vehicle purchase. We've been very fortunate to have such loyal customers. Brian, Matt and I look forward to serving Whitewater with the same pride and passion that we've always shown to our Burtness family."

Burtness' reputation for unsurpassed customer care is what initially caught the attention of former Sanderson Chevrolet owner, John Sanderson.

"I've known the Bowditch family for years, and I know the dedication that they have to their customers and employees," he said. "And, when I made the decision to move on, the first person who came to mind was John Bowditch. With Burtness Chevrolet, I can rest assured that my customers will be in great hands."

With a customer-focused culture, Burtness Chevrolet has not only thrived at selling and servicing new and used vehicles. It also boasts an exciting loaner car program. This convenient program makes oil changes and other appointments easy by providing customers with a Burtness vehicle to drive while their own car is being serviced. In addition to this exciting program, the Whitewater dealership will be undergoing building renovations in anticipation of the grand opening celebration planned for July.

Burtness Chevrolet is a family-owned and operated business with 40 employees at the Orfordville location and 10 employees at the Whitewater location.
