Local entrepreneurs Denise Schultz and Gretch Hill have combined forces to bring the ultimate girls getaway to Fontana over the weekend of May 18-20, 2007.

"Our 'Sister Thing' events bring women from southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois together for a lakeside celebration of 'sisterhood'," says Schultz. "That sisterhood comes in many forms, and is the true beauty of these gatherings." Some people attend with a friend, a group or actual sisters, and others attend alone. By the end of their visit, all have formed new bonds and shared an unforgettable experience.

The first event, held in June 2006 marked the passing of Schultz's sister and was a fundraiser for a women's health organization. "From now on these events will celebrate life," Schultz says.

Women entrepreneurs will come together to provide a weekend filled with opportunities to share, shop, learn, play and receive pampering spa services on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake.

The lakeside business boutique, which takes place from 12-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 20 in The Abbey Resort's Harbor Ballroom is the established core of the weekend event.

The show begins with an interactive image and fashion demonstration moderated by Hill. The ballroom will be surrounded with booths where local business owners will display their products and services and be available to answer questions and provide resources.

Exhibitors will include beauty, and image consultants; health and wellness professionals; jewelry, art and home interior experts; business-to-business services and more. "It's informative and fun - the most creative combination of business and pleasure you'll find," says Schultz.

Admission to the show is $10 per person at the door, or just $5 with a VIP postcard available by mail or from boutique sponsors. Complimentary appetizers and a cash bar are available. A supervised 2-hour children's activity program is available for a nominal fee through The Abbey Resort's recreation staff, for those who register in advance. (262-275-9901 - Stacey)

Gretch Hill's team kicks off their 'Image 101 - From The Inside Out' two-day workshop on Friday evening, May 18 at Heritage House on Main Street in Fontana. In a comfortable home-like environment, women will experience four interactive modules including Clothing Personality Style, Skin Care Analysis, Put Your Best Face Forward, and Body Typing - What Not to Wear.

Pampering spa services are incorporated into each program and on-site personal shopping completes the makeover process. "We help women develop the image they've always wanted, and know is inside," says Hill. "We build the woman who can go out and achieve her dreams." (Space is limited and advance registration/payment is required. Contact Hill at 262-949-4358 for details.)

Following their makeover experiences, attendees will 'strut their stuff' down the block at The Abbey Resort.

The two events intertwine with a casual reception on Saturday evening, May 19 at The Abbey Resort's Harbor Ballroom. Beginning at 7 p.m., attendees of either or both events will gather for the hilarious live comedy of The Second City performing 'Truth, Justice, or The American Way' at 8 p.m. Tickets for the show are $30 per person and available through The Abbey Resort or it's a sister thing.llc.
