Whitewater 45 , Greendale 40
The Whitewater High School Whippets broke open a tight game late in the third quarter Thursday night to hold on for a 45-40 win over Greendale at Janesville Parker.
Whitewater will face the Monroe Cheesemakers Saturday in Sun Prairie. Game time is tentatively set for 7 p.m. The Cheesemakers are the No. 2 seed in their bracket and advanced to the sectional final with a 55-45 win over River Valley.
The winner will earn at trip the the WIAA State Basketball tournament in Madison.
