Online library catalogue to expand

Libraries in Wisconsin join to form S.H.A.R.E.

The Lake Geneva Public Library and 22 other members of the library's current WAVE Catalog have joined 19 other public libraries in Wisconsin to form the new combined S.H.A.R.E. computer catalog.

The system became active Wednesday, Jan. 10.

According to a Lake Geneva Public Library news release, patrons will be able to enjoy the advantages of the S.H.A.R.E. catalog by continuing to reserve and renew materials online at, request materials to be sent to any library in the new system, and use one library card at all libraries in the new system all with the added bonus of accessing more materials from 19 new libraries.

The expansion of the new S.H.A.R.E. library consortium requires a standardization of loan policies at the Lake Geneva Public Library.

As of Wednesday, the Lake Geneva Public Library will have a 21 day check-out period for adult and juvenile fiction and non-fiction, audiobook cassettes and audiobook CDs; a 14 day check-out period for new and high-demand adult and juvenile fiction and non-fiction and new and high demand audiobook cassettes and audiobook CDs; and a seven-day check-out period for magazines, music CDs, and adult and juvenile DVDs and videos.
