Challenge to Shepstone brewing in Lake Geneva
Former Lake Geneva alderman Pete Peterson has filed candidacy papers for Lake Geneva mayor, according to the Lake Geneva Regional News.
Peterson told LGRN editor Lisa Seiser that he intends to begin gathering the 50 signatures necessary to get on the ballot for the spring election.
Nomination papers are due by 5 p.m. Jan. 3.
Mayor Sheldon Shepstone has announced his intention to run for re-election, a job he won overwhelmingly in 2004.
Peterson resigned for the city council last Feb. as part of an agreement with D.A. Phil Koss following Peterson's arrest by the Lake Geneva Law Enforcement Agency in 2004 for operating his boat with open intoxicants.
The general election is Tuesday, April 4, with a Tuesday, Feb. 21 primary if necessary.
