New presses roll

After months of preparations, including the first major redesign since 2004, the Week began to roll off the new Bliss Communications printing press Friday about 1 p.m.

The press crew is about halfway through the run at this point, and all seems to be going smoothly.

The new $22 million printing and distribution facility is a major step forward for the company which began printing the Janesville Gazette on the new press Monday.

The new technology allows for printing color on every page in most cases, and we took advantage of it as much as we could in the first edition.

We're excited with the results, and how you will be too when the paper gets to your home this weekend.
